ANNUAL FUND RAISING EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

MAJOR EVENTS
CASA GOLF OUTING, JOHNSON CITY COUNTRY CLUB.
(Mid August) A charitable golf outing – in its 5th year in August 2010. Participation is by foursomes whose entry fees benefit CASA. The event is also supported by area businesses providing hole sponsorships and a host of donated outing prizes which are awarded at the event conclusion. Refreshments are provided. The outing is made possible through the substantial support of the Johnson City Country Club, the area businesses that enthusiastically support it, and the foursomes that generously participate. Approximate Proceeds: $9000.00

CASA RED SHOE GALA, JOHNSON CITY COUNTRY CLUB.
(Mid October) A charitable evening Gala – in its 5th year in October 2010. The key note of this event is fun for a worthy cause, with the frivolity centered on the red footwear – from the chic to the ridiculous, which those attending are encouraged to wear with imagination, gusto and just plain shenanigans. The evening includes dinner, musical entertainment, light dancing, a red shoe contest, and a silent auction. The Red Shoe Gala, like the Golf Outing, is made possible through the sponsorship of the Johnson City Country Club and support from area businesses. Approximate Proceeds: $9000.00.

We are currently looking to add another major fund raising event in Greene County and hope to have it up and running soon.

SMALLER EVENTS
IRIS FESTIVAL, GREENEVILLE.
(Mid May) CASA volunteers man a CASA table with informational materials and donated items for sale. Donations are accepted and interested visitors are informed about our advocacy and the opportunities to actively support CASA and/or to become an active Volunteer.

APPLE FESTIVAL, ERWIN.
(Early October) The same efforts are applied here as for the Iris Festival.

CASA VOLUNTEER GIFT WRAP, RETAIL LOCATION, JOHNSON CITY TN.
(Late November – Christmas Eve) A complimentary gift wrap table is set up at retail outlets. Voluntary donations are received. There is an opportunity to tell the CASA story to interested patrons and to meet with those interested in volunteering with CASA. The manning for this effort comes from CASA ranks as well as local businesses and organizations and friends of CASA. The gift-wrap typically operates each day of the week before Christmas. Approximate Proceeds: $1500.00.

MAGICAL NIGHT OF GIVING, JOHNSON CITY MALL.
(December) The same efforts are applied here as for the Iris Festival.
